Freelance Medical Advisor - Neurodegenerative Diseases


Focus: Alzheimer's & Parkinson's Disease | Remote (Germany-based) | Flexible Contract
Term: 12-month initial contract (extendable)
Rate: Competitive | Open to discussion (hourly/day rate or monthly retainer)


We are seeking a highly experienced Medical Advisor with deep expertise in neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease, to support and guide clinical trial strategy, innovation assessment, and therapeutic development.


In this freelance role, you will consult at a senior level across cross-functional teams, offering critical insight into clinical development, regulatory alignment, and scientific innovation. You will play a key role in shaping new approaches across early- and late-phase programmes in neurodegeneration.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the medical lead and subject matter expert for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease programmes.
  • Provide high-level guidance on trial design, protocol development, and clinical strategy.
  • Assess new therapeutic innovations and contribute to scientific positioning and go-to-market strategies.
  • Collaborate with KOLs, research teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure scientific and regulatory alignment.
  • Monitor clinical literature and developments in the field to inform recommendations.


Requirements:

  • MD or PharmD qualification in a relevant medical or scientific discipline.
  • Proven experience in clinical trials and drug development within neurodegenerative or CNS-related indications.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and clinical best practices.
  • Fluent German language skills, both written and spoken, are essential.
  • Full right to work in Germany (EU citizenship or valid Blue Card).
  • Prior experience working with pharma, biotech, CROs, or academic research institutions is highly desirable.


Contract Details:

  • Freelance / Consultancy
  • 12-month initial term, with potential for extension.
  • Remote-based, with flexibility for occasional travel within Germany for strategic meetings or workshops.
  • Rate is flexible and open to discussion depending on structure (hourly, daily, or retainer).
