We are looking for a Platform Engineer looking for an exciting new opportunity at a market leading firm.
Within this role you will be responsible for designing, building and allocating resources as required by application and business demand as well as implementing redundancy and DR for all products and services.
A technical knowledge of Cloud Services (Azure), Microsoft technology stack and a background high availability server infrastructure are essential for this role.
Role: Platform Engineer
Salary: Up to £43,000 + Benefits + Progression
·Optimise availability and performance of the all servers that underpin the services we offer to customers.
·In co-operation with the Hosted Services team ensure appropriate hardware and software assets exist, maintaining excellent configuration records
·Recommending to management improvements to process and technical environment
·Ensure appropriate Windows patching of all servers including Windows vulnerabilities
·Co-working with application development teams to agree best practices and standards
·Ensure credible and tested backup and recovery services are in place for all server to achieve recent recovery point objectives
·Develop and maintain Monitoring (PRTG) and other proactive monitoring services to ensure secure services with minimum downtime to Server installations.
·Provide service reporting, including trend analysis to management team to support resourcing and application development decision making.
·Windows server Administration experience working with MS 2012/2016
·Knowledge of MS SQL Server
·Practical experience in managing internal and external MS server security and auditing.
·Design, implementation & monitoring of scheduled tasks
·Support of large, complex, customer-facing platforms
·Excellent knowledge of scripting languages, e.g. PowerShell
·Knowledge of Microsoft Azure (highly beneficial)
·Good understanding of networking principles and protocols
