An Aerospace company based in Wiltshire are currently seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of 10 engineers in developing man and unmanned aircraft systems for commerical and defence clients.
The company based near Salisbury have been around for 11 years and due to recent 6 figure bid wins have increased from 25-46 people this year alone. Alongside this, they have opened up two brand new offices in Bristol and Shaftesbury to deal with the further 75% growth they're looking to do by 2021.
This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for either an existing software manager OR a senior engineer who is looking to be trained up in to a 100% managerial position.
You will lead the Software team in the delivery of software products which include flight management, navigation and stabilisation systems. To do this you will:
* Conduct one to one meetings with team members.
* Ensure projects are tailored to governance and control, risk and opportunity management.
* Supporting the company's strategy and new business development.
* Provide technical input in to potential new products.
* Work closely with Project Management to ensure alignment of plans.
The engineers you will be managing are all working on low level software, to DO-178 standards. However, it's not essential for you to have an understanding of this as a chap that works there actually developed these safety standards, so he will be the go-to guy.
The benefits they offer are: 25 days holiday, informal flexitime, 4% pension plus 1% from tax relief, vitality health, minimum 10% bonus (last year they paid out between £4,000 - £15,000)
