eDV Cleared DevSecOps Engineer

Our client, an SME serving the Defence & National Security sectors, are looking for a DevSecOps Engineer with active enhanced DV Clearance.

You will be responsible for integrating security practices within the DevOps process and ensuring security is considered at every stage of the software development lifecycle.

This role combines expertise in software development, operations, and cybersecurity to automate security measures, detect vulnerabilities early, and promote secure coding practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Embed security best practices into Gitlab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement security tools and practices across the development lifecycle
  • Work with the test automation resources to automate security testing and vulnerability scanning within the CI/CD process.
  • Design and implement secure infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
  • Ensure environments are configured securely and compliant with industry standards.
  • Monitor and manage security configurations in cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Work with the team to develop and implement security incident response plans.

Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in a DevSecOps, DevOps, or Security Engineering role.
  • Strong background in software development (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) and cloud platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools like SAST, DAST, container security, and infrastructure security tools.
  • Familiarity with containerisation (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.

Desirable:

  • Certifications in cloud security (e.g., AWS Certified Security, Azure Security Engineer).
  • Experience with automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).



This role is being offered for a 12-month period, paying up to £700 per day Outside IR35.

You will be required to work on-site in either Milton Keynes or London 4-5 days per week and will need active enhanced DV Clearance to be considered.
