Freelance Machine Learning Engineer - Biotech (Cancer Diagnosis AI)

I've partnered with a forward-thinking biotech company which is developing artificial intelligence to support its mission of revolutionising early cancer detection through AI tools that ntegrate biomolecular data and biomechanical signals.

I'm interested in speaking senior freelance Machine Learning Engineers with a proven background in MLOps and experience in Biotech, Meditech and HealthTech, to help build robust, scalable AI systems that can transform cancer diagnostics.

Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and optimise machine learning pipelines for cancer diagnostic applications.
Collaborate with bioengineers and data scientists to integrate biomolecular and biomechanical data into predictive models.
Develop, deploy, and monitor models in production environments using CI/CD and MLOps best practices.
Manage and scale ML workloads using Kubernetes (k8s) in Linux-based environments.
Implement efficient data storage and retrieval solutions using SQL and PostgreSQL.
Work closely with stakeholders to ensure models meet clinical and scientific validation standards.
Maintain thorough documentation of code and processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, SciKit-Learn, etc.)
MLOps & DevOps: Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, model versioning, and deployment.
Infrastructure: Kubernetes (k8s), Docker, and Linux for container orchestration and scaling.
Databases: Solid knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL.
Biotech Background: Familiarity with biomolecular data, biomechanics, and general bioengineering principles.
Analytical Thinking: Ability to work with complex datasets and distill meaningful patterns related to cancer diagnostics.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate across interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications:

Recent experience freelancing.
Experience working with biomedical imaging, omics data, or clinical diagnostics.
Background in computational biology or bioinformatics.
