ICT Manager wanted by public sector organisation in Surrey!

As an ICT Manager you'll be responsible for the organisation's IT management plan, IT infrastructure, hardware & software, digital security and compliance as well as generic requirements.

Full UK Driving License is required!

IT Management:

  • Develop and implement the future digital strategy and IT management plan for the organisation.
  • Prioritise the delivery of IT change projects, overseeing and managing IT projects.
  • Responsible for the line management, training and further development of the future IT team.
  • Manage the IT budget to provide good value for money and ensure good supplier relationships.

IT Infrastructure:

  • Direct, manage and oversee the development and optimisation of the IT infrastructure, systems and applications.
  • Identify and implement solutions to overcome day-to-day IT and infrastructure issues, to ensure business continuity.
  • Work with the senior leadership team on the IT strategic planning and take responsibility for the management and development of the network infrastructure and services.
  • Manage the functioning and deployment of applications.

Hardware & Software:

  • Support the installation of new equipment and perform routine maintenance tasks on ICT equipment including hardware, software, and other peripherals.
  • Provide support with respect to the use of Audio/Visual hardware including audio recording equipment; lighting systems; sound systems; projectors; interactive whiteboards etc.
  • Identify new and emerging hardware, software, communication technologies and products, assessing their relevance and potential value.
  • Monitor and advise if changes are needed to security and back-up systems and plan recovery contingencies to enable an efficient return to service after any unforeseen system outages.
  • Manage agreements, and negotiation with suppliers and vendors to ensure best value in accordance with financial procedures.
  • Lead the maintenance of high value IT inventory and equipment such as desktops, laptops, servers and infrastructure equipment.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the IT asset register and strategy.

Digital Security and Compliance:

  • Effectively manage cyber security risks, provide improved cyber assurance, and establish robust backup systems and management plans.
  • Ensure appropriate IT security and safeguarding systems are in place.
  • Ensure that the organisation is appropriately protected from an IT security perspective in relation to both internal users and external threats.
  • Manage the compliance with licenses, agreements and policies within the area of IT.
  • Develop and maintain effective ICT systems and the data held on them, ensuring levels of security and protection are met to meet GDPR and network security requirements.
