Position: Project Engineer

Job Description:

The Company is seeking a skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join our esteemed marine contractor team. As a Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing a variety of offshore projects, particularly within the renewable energy sector. Your responsibilities will encompass producing comprehensive documentation, including method statements and risk assessments, and leveraging Microsoft packages and 3D software to support project execution. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of relevant offshore industry experience, with a strong background in project management and technical expertise.

This poition is fully remote but will require you to sometimes travel to Orkney, Scotland

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the project management team to plan, execute, and deliver offshore projects within specified timelines and budgets.
  • Develop and produce detailed project documentation, including method statements, risk assessments, project plans, technical specifications, and progress reports.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and technical evaluations to identify project requirements, potential risks, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Coordinate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, including offshore personnel, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Utilize Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project) proficiently to prepare reports, presentations, and project schedules.
  • Utilize 3D software and modeling tools (AutoCAD, Inventor, OrcaFlex) to develop visualizations, simulations, and engineering designs for project planning and execution.
  • Monitor project progress, identify deviations, and implement corrective measures to mitigate risks and ensure project objectives are met.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices to enhance project delivery and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Marine, or Structural Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project engineering or a similar role in the offshore industry, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in producing documentation such as method statements and risk assessments.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project) for documentation, reporting, and scheduling purposes.
  • Experience with 3D software and modeling tools for visualizations, simulations, and engineering designs.
  • Solid understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and practices.
  • Familiarity with offshore construction processes, equipment, and industry standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional certifications or licenses in project management or engineering disciplines are a plus.
