iO Associates is looking for a Principal Nuclear Safety Engineer to work with a top international design, engineering, and project management consulting firm. They work in the infrastructure industry. By utilising virtual, interactive, collaborative, data-rich technology, they assist clients in making better decisions for challenging tasks.

You will be working as a Principal Nuclear Safety Engineer in this vital role, supporting safety cases all the way through a facility's design and/or operation.

You bring proven knowledge and experience in:

• You have a track record of success in safety, preferably in the nuclear and defence sectors or other heavily regulated fields.
• A minimum of a 2:1 honours degree in physics, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field.
• Chartered (or in the process of becoming so).
• Must be qualified to receive the necessary degree of security clearance.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing/Managing Safety Case groups and initiatives.
• Studies on the identification of hazards and faults (e.g., HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, etc).
• Hazard analysis assessments, both quantitative and qualitative.
• Evaluations of radiological hazards.
• Production of Safety Case Reports (PSR, PCSR, etc.).
• ALARP Evaluations.
