Our client, a leader in the energy sector, is seeking a dedicated Process Safety Engineer to join their dynamic HSSE team. About the Role

  • As a Process Safety Engineer, you will monitor and audit operational sites across the UK, ensuring adherence to the company's Process Safety Policy and standards.
  • You will lead and assist in safety studies, identify, and rectify gaps in process safety knowledge, and provide expert support to ensure compliance.
  • Your role will involve running the Process Safety audit program, advising on safety matters, and investigating process safety incidents to prevent reoccurrences.
  • You will collaborate with site management, engineering teams, and external safety consultants to maintain and enhance the effectiveness of process safety systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing process safety compliance at multiple operational locations, including COMAH sites across Great Britain.
  • You will conduct audits, support hazard studies, and liaise with regulatory authorities and emergency services on health, safety, and environmental matters.
  • Additionally, you will review accident reports, lead investigations into process safety incidents, and work with operational teams to implement safety improvements.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of a City & Guilds qualification, preferably HNC in Chemical, Mechanical, or Production Engineering.
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Process Safety Management (PSM) with at least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of COMAH and HAZID studies, including HAZOP, SWIFT, and PHR.
  • Experience in auditing safety systems and a thorough understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
