They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team and drive the automation of their microscopy processes, enabling non-expert scientists to gain rapid and actionable insights.

About the Role:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building and implementing software solutions that automate the acquisition and analysis of super-resolution microscopy data. Your work will empower scientists across various fields, including academic research, drug development, and diagnostics, to leverage advanced microscopy techniques with ease.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement algorithms to automate microscope controls for fluorescence microscopy imaging, providing a seamless, one-click acquisition experience.
  • Design and optimise algorithms for point-cloud and image analysis, streamlining super-resolution workflows for non-expert users.
  • Ensure scientific accuracy and maintain the rigor of both new and existing techniques while prioritizing user-friendly and efficient experiences.
  • Take ownership of the full development lifecycle for key tools and features, from research and development through to deployment and production.
  • Mentor team members on microscopy context and software engineering best practices.
  • Deliver valuable solutions rapidly without compromising on quality.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in fluorescence microscopy, algorithms, and software tools to keep solutions at the forefront of technology.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in developing automation solutions for fluorescence microscopy.
  • Strong background in defining and implementing microscopy application workflows.
  • Familiarity with software development best practices.
  • High-level proficiency in Python programming.
  • Expertise in standard image processing techniques used in microscopy.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with single molecule localization microscopy.
  • Experience applying machine learning solutions to microscopy applications.
