Simulator Software Engineer (m/f/d)
A leading European space company with over 40 years of experience and a strong presence in Bremen is seeking a talented Simulator Software Engineer (m/f/d) to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to pivotal European space programs, developing cutting-edge simulation software for a variety of spaceflight missions.
About the Role:
As a member of the Simulator Software Team, you will be responsible for the full software development lifecycle of simulation software, creating vital tools for mission success.
Your Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement simulation models of satellite equipment and the space environment.
- Continuously improve the simulation framework, user front-end, and test/debugging interfaces and tooling.
- Perform tasks throughout the entire software lifecycle, including software requirements, architecture, design, coding, testing, integration, and documentation.
- Coordinate with customers and internal software teams for design, reviews, and timely delivery of simulators.
- Support customer teams during mission preparation and the maintenance phase of simulators.
Your Qualifications:
- A degree in engineering (major or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a comparable qualification).
- Proficiency in modern C++, experience with Python.
- Familiarity with working in a Linux environment.
- Professional experience as a Software Engineer or Simulator Software Engineer is desirable.
- Knowledge of federated simulation and co-simulation techniques is a plus.
- Experience with Qt, Git, DOORS, and JIRA, as well as embedded software, is a plus.
- Experience with ECSS-SMP tools/environments and software standards (e.g., ECSS-E-ST-40C or DO-178B) is an advantage.
- Previous experience in the space sector, particularly with ground station software, is a plus.
- Strong motivation and an independent work style.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
