iO Associates are thrilled to announce that the .Net Thames Valley meetup is back with a bang for the first one of 2023 and it is going to be one of our biggest ones yet. The legendary Jon Skeet, A Staff Developer Platform Engineer at Google will be giving an insightful talk on ‘How Jon thinks when he is coding.’ This Insight is going to be invaluable and certainly not to be missed. Accompanying Jon is Paul Bevis the incredible CTO at FSP Speaking on ‘Sustainable Demand Shaping’.

The meetup is on Wednesday, June 14th at 6pm, hosted at Now Building, Here & Now, Thames Valley Park, Reading, Berkshire, England, RG6 1WG - plenty of parking - park outside the Now building. Public transport info is listed down below. Weather permitting, we will be lucky enough to have this fantastic meetup in FSP’s stunning Outdoor Cinema, plan B will be to have the meetup inside the fantastic facilities at FSP.

We have the capacity for 50 people so it will be on a first come first serve basis. If you would like to attend please confirm your attendance on the sign up page above.

If you can aim to get there by 6pm there will be drinks (beers and soft drinks) as well as a spread of pizza to keep you going for the evening. Jon’s talk will begin at 7pm.

With a little bit of luck, we might be in for some good weather around this time of year. If the sun is out, we will be lucky enough to have this meet-up in the sunshine at FSP’s fantastic outdoor cinema facility.

Our speakers:

Jon Skeet is a Staff Developer Platform Engineer at Google, working on Google Cloud Platform client libraries for .NET, based in the London office. (That's the theory, anyway. Most of the time he works from his shed instead). He's best known for contributions to Stack Overflow as well as his book, C# in Depth. Additionally, he is the primary maintainer of the Noda Time date/time library for .NET.

We also have the brilliant Paul Bevis who is the CTO at FSP Speaking on ‘Sustainable Demand Shaping’. FSP is at the forefront of digital transformation and cybersecurity excellence. He has a deep technical background honed through a passion for software development, problem-solving, and new technology. He started out as a Senior Solutions architect back in 2011. Taking on multiple roles over the years he has been a core pillar in the success of FSP.
