iO Associates are delighted to announce our next instalment in our group, ‘The Defence Series’. In this interview, iO Director Danny Watts will be joined by Robert Bassett Cross, Founder and CEO of Adarga.
Taking place on Tuesday 22nd November, the title of the session will be ‘The future of UK Defence, Innovation, Collaboration and Capitalism’.
To start we will focus on the innovation part of the title, hoping to discuss what technological advances have been made this past year within AI and Synthetic Environments and where you see advances being made in the immediate future (the next 3 years).
We’ll then move on to the ‘how’ we innovate, what role collaboration plays across industry, MOD, academia etc and finally what part capitalism plays as a potential positive or negative especially when it comes to some of our adversaries who don’t operate in as such a free market as we do.
About Robert:
Robert Bassett Cross MC is the CEO and founder of Adarga, one of the UK’s leading developers of artificial intelligence software, serving customers in National Security and Defence. Robert has applied his experience as a former British Army officer, leading teams on counter-terrorism operations in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere around the world, to build an intelligent platform that allows users to analyse vast amounts of disparate, complex data at speed to discover the deep and mission-critical insights that drive faster and better decisions.
After leaving the British Army, Rob joined J.P. Morgan as an investment banker in the corporate finance group where he advised international corporate customers from a number of sectors across the spectrum of corporate finance advisory, mergers and acquisitions, and offerings roles.
