Avionics Systems Design Engineer

Focused on developing designs for cabin and avionics systems. Support management by contributing to the design of various systems, including environmental controls (air-conditioning, heating, humidification), in-flight entertainment and cabin management, and communication networks (telephony, GSM, LAN/WLAN). Additional responsibilities include:

  • Designing systems for satellite communication, high-speed data transfer, and satellite TV.
  • Developing power generation, supply, and distribution solutions for galleys, seating, interior doors, and lighting systems.
  • Designing and testing smoke detection and oxygen systems for passengers, as well as cabin and emergency lighting systems.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Independently lead system design, modification, commissioning, and testing of electrical/avionics systems for aircraft cabin projects.
  • Prepare technical specifications, service definitions, and support project planning (including requests for quotations, order descriptions, and materials).
  • Develop layout drawings, block diagrams, wiring diagrams, item and wire lists, and manage engineering change orders (ECO) and product change requests (PCR).
  • Create installation instructions, ground/flight check protocols, and testing procedures.
  • Maintain compliance documentation, including equipment qualification, wire routing, installation, and safety assessments.
  • Collaborate with the Avionics and Electrical Services departments, as well as the Airworthiness Office, Mechanical Production Engineering, and Mechanical Design Engineering.
  • Engage with vendors, suppliers, and test facilities for parts, components, and system assessments.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering (or similar) is essential; aviation and design engineering experience are assets.
  • Minimum of three years of experience, proficiency in MS Office (including Visio) and CAD.
  • Strong communication skills in English; German and/or French are advantageous.
  • Effective time management, proactive teamwork skills, and a commitment to quality, safety, and reliability.
