Calculations Engineer

iO Associates is looking for a Calculation Engineer to work on a Defense project in Loncin. To strengthen our defense department's design office, specifically the Calculations Unit, we are seeking a Calculation Engineer with expertise in LS-Dyna software. This role demands proficiency in explicit numerical calculations and the ability to simulate:

1. Nonlinear physical behaviours of components and systems.
2. Large mechanical deformations.
3. Rapid phenomena such as explosions.

Position: Calculation Engineer, LS-Dyna Software Specialist (Master's Level)
Duration: 9 months, extendable
Location: Loncin (Hybrid)

LS-Dyna is integral to developing technological solutions within the defense sector and other Group entities. The Calculations Unit frequently supports various physical and application-specific challenges across the Group's businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the team to manage calculation activities, including workload identification and internal subcontracting.
• Define appropriate tools and modelling types for different contexts.
• Prepare and execute numerical simulations and calculations, focusing on LS-Dyna studies.
• Help define physical tests for calibrating digital simulation models.
• Support explicit calculation modelling and simulation.
• Analyze calculation results and write comprehensive reports.
• Use findings to propose technical improvements.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Engineering background in mechanical, electronic, electromechanical, aeronautical, or a related field.
• Proficiency in LS-Dyna software is essential.
• Fluency in French and/or English is required.
