Manchester, Hybrid (3 Days Remote)

Our client is a well-established organization currently undergoing a significant IT transformation. After a period of restructuring, they are expanding their small systems team and seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to help them modernize their infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to take on diverse responsibilities and contribute to a forward-thinking technology environment.
Role Overview:
The DevOps Engineer will be a key player in our client's ongoing efforts to transition from legacy systems to a modern, cloud-based infrastructure. The role involves managing cloud resources, particularly within AWS, and supporting containerized applications in Kubernetes. You'll collaborate with various development teams, assisting with modernization projects and enhancing the client's platforms.
The ideal candidate is someone with a versatile skill set, comfortable with both systems and DevOps tasks, and eager to learn and grow within a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure, focusing on AWS.
  • Maintain and optimize containerized applications using Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate with development teams to support ongoing modernization initiatives.
  • Automate processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Provide support for existing systems, including enhancements and integrations.
  • Work closely with the systems team to ensure smooth infrastructure operations.


Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation practices.
  • Solid understanding of DevOps principles and a strong desire to learn new technologies.
  • Experience with database management (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) is a plus.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
  • A proactive, flexible approach to problem-solving.
