Type: Full-time
Salary: Starting at £43,000 per year, dependent on experience
Shift Pattern: Double Days (3 weeks of 5-day shifts, 1 week of 4-day shifts; some additional seasonal hours)
Overtime: Paid for any agreed non-scheduled days
iO Associates are seeking a skilled Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturing site in Bugle, UK. This role is ideal for an experienced maintenance engineer with a strong electrical focus who is ready to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that all factory equipment runs safely, efficiently, and reliably. Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, you'll play a critical role in minimizing equipment downtime and supporting production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical Maintenance: Perform electrical servicing, troubleshooting, and repair on a wide range of factory equipment, ensuring machines operate at optimal efficiency.
- Rapid Response to Breakdowns: Respond promptly to breakdowns, minimizing downtime, and restoring production operations quickly and effectively.
- Technical Diagnostics: Diagnose electrical defects, implement repairs, and thoroughly test machinery before returning it to production.
- Preventative Maintenance: Maintain comprehensive records of equipment repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks to support continued efficiency and compliance.
- Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the team to identify process improvements and implement efficiency measures to support production goals.
- Spare Parts Management: Identify and order electrical components as required, ensuring parts are readily available and inventory is efficiently managed.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, clearly communicating equipment issues and updates to foster an environment of teamwork and shared goals.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Electrical Expertise: Strong electrical engineering background with hands-on experience in a manufacturing or factory setting.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with the 17th Edition Electricity at Work regulations and PUWER standards.
- Experience with preventive maintenance systems (e.g., PPM, Holistech).
- Qualifications: Formal electrical engineering qualification (minimum level 3) with a multi-skilled focus.
- Health & Safety Knowledge: IOSH certification or equivalent, with solid understanding of safety practices and standards.
