Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer looking for the next step in your career? We are partnering with an innovative company in the electric vehicle sector, seeking a talented Senior/Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team in Guildford.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of cutting-edge mechanical systems for electric vehicles
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing specialists
  • Manage the full product lifecycle, from concept to production, ensuring designs meet performance, safety, and cost requirements
  • Utilize CAD software to create detailed models, drawings, and specifications
  • Oversee testing and validation of designs, troubleshooting issues and implementing design improvements
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical leadership and support

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the automotive or related industry
  • Strong proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD)
  • Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools
  • Knowledge of electric vehicle systems, including battery technology and powertrains, is highly desirable
  • Ability to manage projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to engineering challenges
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
