R&D Engineer - Alternative Fuel Vehicles (Sponsorship Available)

Are you an innovative engineer with a passion for cutting-edge technology in alternative fuel vehicles? Our client, a forward-thinking company at the forefront of sustainable transport solutions, is looking for an R&D Engineer to join their dynamic team.

What You'll Do:

  • Design and install R&D prototypes for alternative-fuel commercial vehicles.

  • Develop and validate electrical and mechanical systems.

  • Specify and source key components for projects.

  • Design and build wiring harnesses for low and high-voltage applications.

  • Work with CAN-based systems for setup, configuration, and data analysis.

  • Collaborate with partners and clients across the UK and internationally.

What We're Looking For:

Mandatory:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) OR equivalent industry experience.

  • 2-3 years' experience in vehicle systems integration.

  • Strong ability to read, produce, and amend wiring diagrams & technical drawings.

  • Hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical integration on vehicle applications.

  • Strong problem-solving skills using engineering calculations.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of engines, fuel cells, electric drivetrains, high-voltage systems, CAN bus, and vehicle cooling systems.

  • Experience with 3D CAD software.
