In order to thoroughly assess and improve their client's web application architecture-which was constructed by a third party-IO Associates is seeking a Ruby on Rails architect prior to the go-live. The resource will be well-versed on AWS infrastructure, security, data encryption, and best practices for architecture in addition to Ruby on Rails.

Keeping the system's design, security, and scalability up to the highest industry standards is the main responsibility of the function.

Location:- Remote and on-site (London)
Contract length: Short term contract 3 weeks
Rate: 600- 700 outside IR35

Responsibilities:

  • Examine the current Ruby on Rails application design, paying particular attention to how secure backend systems are integrated with front-facing components.
  • Examine the AWS infrastructure to make sure it complies with best practices for cloud architecture and offers the optimum application performance and scalability.
  • Make sure that the NHS and NACI encryption standards are followed; pay particular attention to data encryption, safe data storage, and transfer procedures.
  • Examine and refine the database schema and connections to guarantee effective data division, safe access, and adherence to industry norms.
  • In order to maintain high availability and performance of the application under various load conditions, load balancing mechanisms should be evaluated and improved.
  • Assess the scalability, security, and resilience of the current API architecture and make suggestions for enhancements.
  • Make that the architecture of the system supports future scalability, maintainability, and transferability of code.

Requirements:

  • Vast experience as an architect, specialising in cloud, security, architecture, and Ruby on Rails apps.
  • Profound knowledge of cloud architecture, especially as it relates to AWS, including Lambda, VPC, EC2, RDS, and S3.
  • Competence in safe data management procedures and data encryption standards (NHS, NACI).
  • Expertise in creating software architectures that are both scalable and maintainable, with a focus on database design and API interaction.
