Job Summary

As a Senior Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the conceptualization, arrangement, and detailed design of engineering projects. With a minimum of 10 years of experience in the field, you will leverage your extensive expertise to deliver innovative and reliable design solutions. You will be responsible for performing advanced calculations, overseeing design documentation, and ensuring the integrity of project deliverables. Your role will also involve direct interaction with clients to understand their needs and present design proposals. This position requires a high degree of technical proficiency, leadership, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Development:

  • Lead the conceptualization, arrangement, and detailed design of projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
  • Perform hand and software-based calculations to support and verify design integrity, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Criticality Analysis (FMECA).
  • Develop innovative design solutions to complex engineering challenges, ensuring functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.

Documentation and Verification:

  • Control and manage 2D and 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drawings and associated documents through the company's intranet system.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and approvals of design outputs from other engineers to ensure accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
  • Prepare comprehensive project-specific documentation for presentations to clients, regulatory authorities, and third-party stakeholders.

Client Interaction and Project Management:

  • Meet with clients to gather requirements, discuss project goals, and propose effective design solutions.
  • Prepare detailed draft purchase orders, ensuring all necessary specifications and requirements are clearly outlined.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, procurement teams, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.

Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:

  • Implement and adhere to stringent quality control processes to maintain high standards of design output.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements and innovations in design practices.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional development within the team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in design engineering, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA) and advanced analytical tools.
  • Deep understanding of engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
