My client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with detailed knowledge open-source software, Linux, security, and ability to enhance the developer experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and upgrading applications on Linux systems and will be responsible for ensuring the stability and efficiency of critical applications. This is a contract position offering a day rate of up to £400 P/D (Inside IR35) and will be based out of my client's London office on a hybrid basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer and upgrade open-source applications on Linux, including ElasticSearch, Jenkins, Nexus, and Java-based applications.
Use Ansible for application deployment, configuration management, and updates.
Ensure legacy applications remain compatible and functional when migrating to newer versions of RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
Collaborate with a team of talented engineers to improve processes and maintain system security.

Essential Skills:

5+ years of experience administering and upgrading applications built on open-source technologies on Linux systems (RHEL preferred).
5+ years of experience using Ansible to install, configure, and update applications.
Experience troubleshooting and adapting older applications for newer RHEL versions.
Strong background in shell scripting (Bash) and other scripting languages.
