iO Associates are excited to be exclusive partners with a healthcare company that uses innovative technology to improve how patients receive medical care. They work to make sure patients get safe, high-quality treatment by providing support to healthcare systems from referral to discharge.

As a Clinical Safety/Risk Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring that safety protocols are adhered to, promoting a culture of safety across all levels; whilst ensuring the integrity of the Clinical Risk Management System (CRMS). You will work closely with the Head of Patient Safety and Risk Management, providing technical guidance to enhance clinical quality and safety programs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Clinical Safety Engineering, providing expertise to internal and external stakeholders
  • Offer safety engineering advice to the platform, ensuring the safety of Health IT systems
  • Lead Clinical/Patient Safety improvement initiatives and accreditation processes
  • Support the assurance of safety characteristics in Health IT systems throughout their lifecycle
  • Collaborate with clinical and technical teams to manage safety incidents and conduct root cause analyses
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant clinical safety standards and regulations
  • Assist in the creation and management of Hazard Logs and Clinical Safety Case Reports (CSCR)
  • Provide input on bids and changes, focusing on Clinical Safety and Risk Management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Healthcare experience desired
  • Experience in Clinical Safety Engineering or willingness to undertake training
  • Knowledge of national Clinical Risk and Safety Management standards (DCB0129, DCB0160)
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for Medical Devices
  • Proficiency in Risk Management software (e.g., Radar, Datix, JIRA)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
