Duties and Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Electrical Development: Device design and development, including safety, in line with IEC 60601-1.
  • Engage Throughout Design Control: Participate in every phase of the design control process.
  • Maintain Product Documentation: Prepare and upkeep product documentation according to regulatory and normative standards. Drive and participate in risk management activities.
  • Collaborate with External Partners: Maintain clear and effective communication with external partners.
  • Ensure Product Performance: Be accountable for the product's performance and its electrical safety.
  • Coordinate V&V Activities: Oversee verification and validation activities according to medical device industry standards.
  • Work with Regulatory and Quality Teams: Collaborate closely with experts in regulatory affairs and quality management, supporting supplier selection and management.
  • Professional Stakeholder Engagement: Engage confidently with customers, vendors, project team members, and other stakeholders.
  • Network Building: Build and maintain a strong professional network within the industry.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Educational Background: MSc in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience: Over 3 years of experience in an interdisciplinary, regulated environment (preferably MedTech).
  • Technical Expertise: Experience in medical device development and familiarity with IEC 60601-1 standards.
  • PCB Design Proficiency: Skilled in PCB design and electronic design automation software such as Altium, Zuken, KiCAD, or similar.
  • Simulation Skills: Experience with electronic circuit simulation tools like LTspice, SPICE, SIMetrix, or similar (a plus).
  • Electrical Safety & EMC: Experience in implementing electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) according to established standards, preferably IEC 60601-1.
  • Programming Knowledge: Proficient in MATLAB, SIMULINK, LabVIEW, Python; experience with C/C++ is an advantage.
  • Version Control: Experience with source code version control systems like Git.

Working Conditions
