Equipment and Skid Design Engineer

Up to €475 per day
Onsite 3-4 days per week in Belgium

iO Associates is currently seeking an Equipment and Skid Design Engineer on behalf of a well-established Hydrogen client of ours based in Belgium.

As a global leader in energy, defence, hydrogen solutions, our client is committed to sustainable industrial progress.

In this role, you will be responsible for the development and execution of electrolyser separation systems, specifically the gas washing system.

Requirements:

      • Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical
      • 7+ years of experience in the chemical, oil & gas, power, or heavy industry sectors.
      • Strong interest in equipment design within a technically challenging process.
      • Experience with gas washing technology, including bubbling columns and gas scrubbers, is a must-have.
      • Knowledge of international norms and standards applicable to product design.
      • Willingness to occasionally travel abroad for meetings with subcontractors, clients, inspections, or site activities.
      • Fluent in English, both written and spoken (with proficiency in French being highly beneficial)

Responsibilities:

      • Develop and optimise design alternatives using calculations, CFD, testing, and feedback from subcontractors and industry literature.
      • Provide detailed guidance to the drafting team for 3D models, considering constraints like integration, manufacturing, maintenance, and standards.
      • Analyse client specifications and prepare technical documents for RFQs of pressure vessels and internal components.
      • Evaluate technical offers and monitor detailed engineering by subcontractors.
      • Participate in inspections at manufacturing sites and support project management with client clarifications.
      • Review international norms and adapt designs to ensure compliance.
