FPGA Design Engineer
You will be responsible for VHDL development within projects related to satellite equipment, scientific instruments, or ground support equipment. Your tasks will include designing IP cores and code according to project specifications, collaborating closely with Electronic Engineers, FPGA Architects, and fellow FPGA Design Engineers to ensure precision and quality. Documentation (both in-line and separate reports) is essential for maintaining traceability.
You will ensure that the flight FPGA code complies with coding standards and delivers optimal performance. Responsibilities include core, module, and board testing. You'll also verify your design through simulation and hardware validation, using lab tools to perform synthesis and post-layout verification, including timing and design rule checks.
Finally, you will take part in functional and performance testing at the equipment level, delivering the final VHDL code to internal or external clients with proper documentation.
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of ESA practices & FPGA standards (ECSS-E-ST-20-40C/ECSS-Q-ST-60-03C) is a plus.
- Strong hands-on experience with VHDL and familiarity with Python.
- Working knowledge of microelectronics is essential.
- Proficiency in English.
- Proactive, creative, and result-oriented team player with excellent organizational and communication skills.
- A natural problem-solver willing to step in when needed.
