Opportunity
The company seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a team of engineers and process enthusiasts. The team develops, manufactures, and runs production equipment for the cosmetics, food, and pharma markets, providing high-quality products for customers and consumers. Currently, the focus is on scaling up the first commercial production plant to bring products to market in the Fine Fragrance sector. The product has the potential to reshape this industry. Role
As a Mechanical Engineer, this role will be crucial in developing and designing future encapsulation process systems and aiding in rapid scaling to meet customer demand. With an innovative spirit and industrial experience, the Mechanical Engineer will bring new ideas and approaches to the development of production equipment. Professional experience with clean process plants will make this individual a key player in improving and upgrading continuous running processes while maintaining the highest quality product output.
Responsibilities
- Be part of a multi-disciplinary team that develops, assembles, tests, and commissions novel process equipment for microencapsulation processes.
- Immediately start working on scaling the current setup as volumes increase.
- Collaborate with the research and formulations team on process plant specifications for different markets.
- Take responsibility for individual projects, ensuring they stay within budget, meet specifications, and are delivered on time.
- Create product documentation (i.e., assembly, maintenance, and user manuals).
- Constantly challenge the status quo while suggesting novel solutions to difficult engineering problems.
- Work on continuously improving the environmental footprint.
Requirements
- University degree in engineering with a focus on mechanical engineering and/or mechatronics.
- 5+ years of background in mechanical engineering (apprentices highly encouraged).
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or any equivalent 3D-CAD software combined with DM/PDM environment.
- Experience in developing and documenting equipment according to the machine directive (2006/42/EC).
- Hands-on engineering experience in product development, validation, and testing.
- Ability to successfully collaborate with cross-functional teams including both internal and external experts.
- Project management experience and an independent way of working.
- Team player excited to work in a rapidly growing process technology company.
- Swiss or EU national only (Sponsership not offered).
- Intrinsic motivation to design technical solutions for challenging chemical process problems with a proven track record.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable communicating in both German and English.
