Principal Control and Instrumentation Design Engineer

iO Associates are working in partnership with a North West-based client whom are known for their innovative clean energy generation and distribution solutions. We are currently seeking a Principal Control and Instrumentation Design Engineer to join them on a permanent basis.
As a Principal Engineer, you will not only be well versed in the technical aspects of C&I design such as having good working knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems, BMS and a demonstrable working knowledge of control system protocols (Modbus, MBUS, BACnet, PROFINET, Ethernet etc.), but also have the capability of leading and mentoring junior members of the team.
You day-to-day duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Understanding the full project scope, undertaking relevant technical studies and the preparation of project documentation, including Controls Philosophies, Technical Submittals, Descriptions of Operation, Commissioning and Operation & Maintenance documentation.
- Taking full responsibility for ensuring that proposed solutions are technically robust.
- Assisting staff and contractors in the supply, installation and commissioning of Control & Instrumentation systems.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working on energy generation and distribution projects, however, this is not essential.
