To strengthen their development team, they are looking for a dedicated and experienced Product Developer (m/f/d) specializing in Soft Ballistics.
Your Challenge:
As a Product Developer (m/f/d) in the field of Soft Ballistics, you will play a key role in the conception, development, and optimization of their flexible ballistic protection solutions. Your focus will be on materials such as polyethylene (PE) in multi-layer constructions, which ensure the highest level of protection while offering a high degree of freedom of movement.
Your specific tasks will include:
- Conception and Design: Developing innovative concepts for soft ballistic protection products, taking into account specific customer requirements and relevant standards.
- Material Research and Selection: Evaluating and selecting suitable materials, particularly various types of PE, as well as researching new material combinations to optimize protective performance and weight.
- Prototype Development: Planning, conducting, and analyzing test series to validate new material configurations and designs. Creating prototypes in close collaboration with production.
- Simulation and Testing: Applying simulation tools to predict ballistic behavior and conducting as well as evaluating ballistic tests in accordance with national and international standards.
- Technical Documentation: Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, and test reports.
- Collaboration: Close cooperation with other specialist departments such as sales, production, and quality management, as well as with external partners and suppliers.
- Market Observation: Continuously monitoring the market and technological developments in the field of soft ballistics.
Your Profile:
- Successfully completed technical studies (Diploma/Master's/Bachelor's degree) in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Textile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable field.
- Sound knowledge in the field of ballistic protection materials and technologies, ideally with a focus on soft ballistics and polyethylene (PE).
- Experience in the development and validation of technical products, preferably in the field of personal protective equipment.
- Knowledge of relevant standards and testing procedures in the field of ballistic protection.
- Analytical thinking, a structured way of working, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Teamwork skills, strong communication abilities, and a high degree of initiative.
- Good written and spoken English skills.
- Nice to have: Proficient in using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and ideally with simulation tools.
