R&D Engineer - Alternative Fuel Vehicles (Sponsorship Available)

Are you an innovative engineer with a passion for cutting-edge technology in alternative fuel vehicles? Our client, a forward-thinking company at the forefront of sustainable transport solutions, is looking for an R&D Engineer to join their dynamic team.
What You'll Do:
Design and install R&D prototypes for alternative-fuel commercial vehicles.
Develop and validate electrical and mechanical systems.
Specify and source key components for projects.
Design and build wiring harnesses for low and high-voltage applications.
Work with CAN-based systems for setup, configuration, and data analysis.
Collaborate with partners and clients across the UK and internationally.
What We're Looking For:
β Mandatory:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) OR equivalent industry experience.
2-3 years' experience in vehicle systems integration.
Strong ability to read, produce, and amend wiring diagrams & technical drawings.
Hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical integration on vehicle applications.
Strong problem-solving skills using engineering calculations.
β Desirable:
Knowledge of engines, fuel cells, electric drivetrains, high-voltage systems, CAN bus, and vehicle cooling systems.
Experience with 3D CAD software.
