One of our established clients are looking for a DevSecOps Engineer to join them on a contract basis up until the end of March

The business themselves was created in 2017 to bring together the seven research councils, and strengthen the UK's research and innovation landscape. They are the national funding agency investing in science and research in the UK, operating across the whole of the UK with a combined budget of more than £6 billion

They are building out a DevSecOps team, you will be in charge of setting up the SecOps function from scratch

Your role will involve, but will not be limited to:

  • Utilising AWS and Splunk
  • CNAPP tooling
  • Staying informed about the latest security threats and vulnerabilities
  • Continuously monitor security alerts and events from various sources
  • Acting as third line/point of escalation from third party on security incidents, anomalies, and potential threats
  • Develop and execute incident response plans to mitigate security incidents promptly
  • Document incident details, actions taken, and lessons learned for post-incident analysis
  • Identification and assess vulnerabilities in systems and networks
  • Provide advisory guidance on configuration and security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and VPNs
  • Ensure security policies and access controls are properly configured and enforced
  • Provide advisory guidance and request prioritisation on the deployment of security patches and updates for operating systems and applications

If you're interested, I would be more than happy to discuss the role in more detail, along with any other opportunities you may be open to
