Senior Data Architect - Salary up to £115,000 - Remote
Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Data Architect to join a growing Data & AI team within a leading organization. The successful applicant will deliver high-quality data solutions, helping customers become more data-driven organizations. You will be responsible for planning, designing, and delivering solutions using Microsoft Azure services, working from presales to operational handover.
Due to the nature of this role, successful candidates will need to undergo security clearance. To be eligible, you must have lived in the UK for at least 5 consecutive years.
Responsibilities
- Design cloud-based data platforms using Azure services (Databricks, SQL Database, Data Lake, Synapse, Cosmos DB, Data Factory, Blob Storage).
- Build data models optimized for analytics.
- Define data architecture framework, standards, and principles.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to team members.
- Translate complex technical concepts across stakeholders.
About you
- Experience in data platform architecture (Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, Dimensional Modelling, Streaming vs Batching).
- Knowledge of data management principles (Governance, Quality, Master Data, Security).
- Experience with Azure Data Services (Databricks, SQL Database, Data Lake, Synapse, Cosmos DB, Power BI).
- Strong SQL skills and understanding of Azure infrastructure.
- Strong presales experience, managing customer relationships and technical solutions.
- Stakeholder management skills, including engagement with executive-level sponsors.
Advantageous knowledge and experience
- Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture Frameworks and Azure DevOps Pipelines.
- Experience with Apache Spark and on-premises Microsoft stack (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS).
- Relevant certifications (Azure Architect Expert, TOGAF Practitioner).
