iO are on the lookout for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join the engineering team with a leading GreenTech company in Gateshead.

With a focus on optimising performance, reliability, and reducing carbon emissions, this design and manufacturing company deliver power electronics, electric motors and other energy solutions to the ever evolving industrial EV world.

Skills and experience:

3D CAD models and 2D drawings of components and assemblies (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
DFM, DFA, DFMEA, PFMEA, manufacturing processes and materials selection
Design and develop prototype components and related tooling including hands on assembly of prototype hardware
Experience working with customers and developing suppliers

Desirable:

Experience with rotating machines and motors
Experience with packaging of electronic components / assemblies within a mechanical enclosure
Hand calculations and analysis software - ANSYS, MATLAB for validation (static structural analysis, thermal and modal analyses advantageous)
CFD experience

Looking to pay between £55,000 - £60,000 for the role and it is being offered on a hybrid basis of 80% on-site, 20% from home.
