A leading provider of high-performance protection solutions in Fulda, Germany, is seeking a motivated and experienced Team Lead to guide and develop their Soft Ballistics Technician team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a skilled group focused on the technical and textile aspects of cutting-edge soft ballistic materials and products.
As the Team Lead, you will be responsible for the effective management and performance of the Soft Ballistics Technician team. You will oversee the daily operations, ensuring the efficient production and rigorous quality assurance of soft ballistic protection items, while fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Soft Ballistics Technicians, fostering their technical growth and expertise.
- Plan, organize, and assign daily tasks and projects to team members, optimizing workflow and resource allocation within the soft ballistics production area.
- Oversee the team's work with various textiles and materials, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols in the cutting, sewing, and assembly of soft ballistic components.
- Ensure the proper maintenance and operation of production equipment related to textile processing within the team's responsibilities.
- Implement and monitor quality control procedures, ensuring thorough checks on materials and finished products.
- Collaborate closely with production managers, engineers, and other departments to optimize manufacturing processes, resolve technical challenges, and contribute to product development.
- Enforce strict adherence to safety standards and protocols within the ballistic protection environment, promoting a safety-conscious culture within the team.
- Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new Soft Ballistics Technicians.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team to enhance efficiency, quality, and reduce waste.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Your Profile:
- A completed vocational training or technical degree in textiles, materials science, engineering, or a related field.
- Significant practical experience working with textiles and a strong understanding of fabric properties and processing techniques.
- Proven experience in a leadership, supervisory, or team lead role within a manufacturing or technical environment.
- Ideally, some background or understanding of ballistic protection principles and safety standards related to soft materials.
- A strong technical aptitude with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
- Excellent organizational, delegation, and time-management skills.
- A keen eye for detail and an unwavering commitment to quality.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- A proactive attitude with a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.
- Fluency in English is required; German language skills would be a significant advantage.
