Technical Writer/Documentation Specialist (Aircraft Maintenance)

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Technical Writer/Documentation Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing and maintaining essential aircraft maintenance documentation, ensuring the highest levels of accuracy and clarity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) supplements, including all Parts/Bulletins (P/B) and in accordance with airworthiness requirements.
  • Independently create and maintain Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC) supplements, including parts list tables, adhering to airworthiness regulations.
  • Produce high-quality isometric illustrations and other technical graphics.
  • Analyze engineering documents, including electrical/mechanical drawings, ground checks, specifications, and project descriptions.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering teams and relevant production shops.
  • Track design revisions and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Prepare comprehensive customer documentation packages.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation libraries, including illustration libraries and reusable sentence banks.
  • Contribute to the development of internal guidelines and AMM/IPC supplements.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer, ideally with a Master's degree or equivalent senior-level experience.
  • Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of aeronautics and aviation industry standards is highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in technical illustration software (Adobe FrameMaker/Illustrator, IsodrawCADprocess, Sketchup, AutoCAD).
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel) and CAD software.
  • Experience with XML and VB Script is a plus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English (US English preferred).
  • Fluency in German is a significant advantage.
  • Highly organized, goal-oriented, and a strong team player with a proactive approach.
