About the Role:
A leading global insurer and reinsurer known for its innovative approach to risk management and data-driven decision-making are seeking a dedicated Underwriting MI Analyst to join our Underwriting MI Analytics team, specifically supporting the Financial Risk Solutions (FRS) team. This role involves engaging with FRS underwriters and analysts to facilitate data-driven decisions and enhance our underwriting strategy.

You will manage and coordinate workload, ensuring the FRS team's MI and analytical needs are met. This includes developing reports in PowerBI and Alteryx, utilizing SQL SSMS and Excel, and onboarding new data streams such as Salesforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support FRS underwriting with data and analysis.
  • Act as the primary MI contact for FRS, providing relevant business knowledge.
  • Gather requirements and deliver new PowerBI reports.
  • Handle complex ad-hoc requests.
  • Collaborate with service functions to enhance FRS engagement and solutions.
  • Promote data usage within the FRS team.
  • Investigate new software and data sources to enrich current offerings.
  • Develop a culture of data-driven decision-making through training and education.
  • Produce clear, concise reports to analyze business activity.
  • Manage global stakeholder communications.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.

Skills and Experience:

  • Understanding of insurance functions and data requirements.
  • Excellent knowledge of PowerBI and SQL SSMS.
  • Strong business data analysis skills.
  • Effective communication with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL databases and query writing.
  • Initiative in task undertaking and stakeholder prioritization.
