Compliance Verification Engineer (Cabin Safety CVE)

In this role, you will ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards related to cabin safety and interiors. Your expertise in cabin interiors, safety systems, and components will be essential.

As a CVE, you will be part of the Office of Airworthiness within the EASA Part 21J Design Organisation. You will collaborate closely with the engineering team on various design activities, including VIP completions, refurbishments, modifications, upgrades, and special mission aircraft. While the primary focus is on CS 25 Large Aeroplanes, experience with CS 23 and/or CS 29 rotorcraft is highly beneficial.

This role offers the opportunity to engage with a wide range of cabin safety topics, from minor modifications to full "green" aircraft VIP completions. You will be working on diverse airframes, from Gulfstream to Airbus and Boeing aircraft.

Responsibilities:

  • Classify changes and repairs.
  • Review, verify, and approve engineering documentation, test plans, analyses, and other certification documents related to design changes, modifications, and repairs.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies for STCs and attend meetings.
  • Prepare certification programs.
  • Manage STC projects as the Office of Airworthiness focal point for engineering.
  • Provide technical guidance and advise the engineering team on compliance matters.
  • Perform compliance inspections of cabin interiors.
  • Conduct preliminary LOPA certification reviews to identify non-compliances.
  • Witness ground and flight tests as a CVE, ensuring conformity.
  • Perform the cabin safety CVE role in flight test activities, including Flight Test Hazard assessments, safety review board meetings, and supporting the flight test coordinator.
  • Verify compliance with OSD-Cabin Crew Data.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including quality, program management, production, installation, and supply chain management.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers on cabin safety matters.
  • Coach and mentor design organisation staff.
  • Assist the Office of Airworthiness in developing procedures to maintain Design Organisation Approvals.
  • Stay updated on relevant regulations and practices.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, advising on subcontractor qualification.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Design Organisation.
  • EASA Part 21J CVE in Cabin Safety.
  • Experience in both minor and major changes.
  • Expert knowledge of EASA regulations and standards related to cabin safety.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven success in highly collaborative environments, demonstrating initiative and leadership within the team.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Must be EU or Swiss Citizen - no sponsership is offered.
