We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading engineering solutions provider in Bellshill. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a company that delivers specialist electrical design, installation, and automation solutions to world-renowned whisky & spirits manufacturers across Scotland.

The Role:

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems for automation and process control projects. You'll work across a variety of manufacturing environments, contributing to both large-scale projects and smaller system upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:

✔ Producing detailed electrical designs for control and automation systems
✔ Creating schematics, layouts, and panel designs using AutoCAD or EPLAN
✔ Specifying and selecting electrical components
✔ Ensuring designs meet relevant industry standards and safety regulations
✔ Supporting installation, testing, and commissioning activities
✔ Collaborating with project teams to deliver high-quality solutions on time

Who We're Looking For:

✅ Experience in:

Electrical design for industrial automation & control systems
AutoCAD or EPLAN for schematics and layouts
Panel design, cable calculations, and load assessments
✅ Preferred Qualifications: Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related field
✅ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
✅ Full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK

✨ Desirable Experience:

Background in Food & Beverage or Process Industries
Knowledge of BS 7671, IEC 60204, and functional safety standards
Understanding of ATEX regulations and hazardous area classifications
