Position: Static Stress Engineer - (Approver & Non-Approver Roles)

Location: Bristol

Pay Rate: £52.57 per hour (Inside IR35) for Approver

Pay Rate: £46.00 per hour (Inside IR35) for non-approver

Work Pattern: Hybrid

iO Associates is currently recruiting a Static Stress Engineer to join our client's team at the Broughton site. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a world-leading aerospace company, renowned for its contributions to commercial and military aviation, rotorcraft, defence, and space sectors. You'll play a vital role in high-impact projects, working within an innovative and collaborative environment that thrives on pushing the boundaries of aerospace technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile data for trade studies, impact assessments, and RF mitigations
  • Conduct static stress analysis on fixed-wing structures using internal tools
  • Prepare and, if authorised, approve certification dossiers (composite & metallic)
  • Collaborate with wing teams and report progress to the Delivery Team Leader
  • Functionally report to the Senior/Lead Stress Engineer on the work package

Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in the aerospace sector
  • Previous involvement in similar projects or environments
  • Strong hands-on background in airframe certification analysis and in-service support
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to deliver tasks to agreed timelines and provide progress updates

Desirable

  • Degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Delegated signatory status
  • Proficiency in Nastran, Hyperworks, Python scripting, and ISAMI
  • Familiarity with wing structure design and analysis
