iO Associates are working with a Health Tech organisation that provides innovative software solutions for healthcare organisations, specialising in improving clinical workflows and collaboration by integrating disparate healthcare IT systems.

They are looking for a Database Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role requires a deep understanding of healthcare reporting and data analysis needs, and involves collaborating with teams to ensure the database infrastructure supports high-performance workflows, secure data handling, and actionable insights through robust reporting mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities

As a Database Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the database infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:

Designing and optimising database schemas, indexes, and queries to ensure optimal performance.
Implementing robust security measures to protect sensitive patient data and adhering to industry standards.
Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, and optimising database queries.
Developing and maintaining effective backup and recovery strategies.
Working closely with development, integration, and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Skills:

Experience with AWS services, especially RDS, EC2, and S3.
Knowledge of data security and compliance standards in healthcare.
5+ years of experience in SQL Server database administration, development, and maintenance.
SQL Server skills, including database design, T-SQL, and performance tuning.
Hands on experience with Power BI for healthcare reporting and dashboard creation.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
