Team Lead - Hard Ballistics Technician Team

Fulda, Germany

€70,000 - €120,000

Our client, a leading and innovative company specializing in high-performance protection solutions based in Fulda, Germany, is seeking an experienced and motivated Team Lead to guide their Hard Ballistics Technician team. This is a pivotal role offering the opportunity to lead a skilled group of technicians in the development and production of cutting-edge protective materials for a critical industry.

As the Team Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hard ballistics production, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to safety standards. You will lead a team instrumental in the creation and processing of hard ballistic components, primarily plates or "tiles" made from metal, advanced compounds, and ceramics.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of Hard Ballistics Technicians.
  • Planning and assigning tasks to team members, ensuring optimal workflow and resource utilization.
  • Overseeing the hands-on work with metallic materials, composites, and ceramics, ensuring adherence to quality standards and technical specifications.
  • Ensuring the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of relevant production and testing equipment.
  • Implementing and monitoring quality control procedures and documentation within the team.
  • Collaborating closely with engineering and other technical teams to optimize production processes, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to product improvements.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies.
  • Participating in the recruitment and training of new team members.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives within the team to enhance efficiency and quality.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A completed vocational training or technical education in a relevant field such as materials science, ceramics, metalworking, or a related discipline.
  • Significant practical experience working with metals, composites, and/or ceramics, ideally within a production environment. Experience in industries where ceramics have a safety-critical aspect (e.g., aerospace, tactical vehicles) is highly advantageous.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role, with the ability to motivate and guide a technical team.
  • A strong technical understanding of hard ballistic materials and their processing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • A meticulous approach to work with an unwavering focus on quality and safety.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and development within the field of hard ballistics.
  • Fluency in English is essential; German language skills would be a significant advantage.

This is an exceptional opportunity to take on a leadership role within a company at the forefront of protection technology and directly impact the creation of life-saving solutions. If you have a strong technical background in materials and a passion for leading and developing teams, we encourage you to apply.
